Dr. Jamie Michael

Dr. Jamie Michael is a Georgia Girl through and through. Milledgeville, a small city southeast of Atlanta, Georgia, is her hometown, and while growing up there she attended John Milledge Academy for 12 years.  Leaving home after graduation was hard but she headed off to LaGrange College where she majored in Biochemistry, and served as vice president of the Kappa Delta sorority.

Throughout college she tailored her education based on her plans of attending medical school, but God had a different plan for her. A week before graduation, she got really sick and had a terrible medical experience that convinced her that medical school was not the place for her.  Instead, she became a Chemist  for one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies.

In 2007, Dr. Jamie married an amazing man, Tommy, who chose to pick up everything and change jobs when God led her back to school to become a Chiropractor.  And thus began her four-year journey at Life University Chiropractic College.

While there, She joined Epik Missions on two Chiropractic mission trips to Ghana in West Africa, and it changed her life forever.  “My time ministering to the people of Ghana set me on a path to reestablish my own relationship with Jesus Christ.”

Since then, Dr. Jamie and Tommy have been so blessed.  We were baptized together on our anniversary, and a month later we were expecting our first child.  Nine months later, in the privacy of their home, we welcomed Miss Therine.  I went on to graduate Chiropractic school just a few months after Therine was born. And in August of 2014 they look to welcome their second child into the world.

In February, 2012 Dr. Jamie opened Michael Family Chiropractic in Smyrna, GA. Dr. Jamie focuses on the restoration of family health. With extensive training with prenatal and pediatric care, she hopes to promote a community of health for the ENITRE family. Whether it is for the dad who is sore from his marathon to the mom who is 20weeks pregnant with a toddler keeping her busy. I would be honored to serve you and provide care for you and your family in order to optimize your overall health.

To be honest, I couldn’t be happier with my life.  I have a fantastic family and a career that never feels like work.

I am excited to be a part of the Michael Family Chiropractic team to serve and educate the Smyrna area on the principles of natural healing and chiropractic.  My passion lies in my dedication and commitment to helping families live healthier, happier, more productive, and higher quality lives.

My background has a long, love affair with natural childbirth beginning with the homebirth of my own 3 children. I love supporting pregnant women by empowering them to birth naturally and without unnecessary intervention.

When my oldest son was13 years old he fell off a 5-foot cinder block wall landing directly on his back. The ER doctors gave us the best news when they reported no spinal fractures and we were able to take him home to rest and heal from the shock. Fast-forward 6 months and he develops migraine headaches, we had no idea they were connected to his fall. We were powerless to help him and frustrated at the traditional medical system that wasn’t providing any relief for him. Finally, a chiropractor came into our lives and with two gentle, specific chiropractic adjustments my son had complete resolution of his headaches!

I shifted gears and chose to pursue a career as a chiropractor as the next step in my desire to equip my community with better health strategies through completely natural, drug-free health care that allows the body to heal itself. I completed my doctorate at Life University which happens to be the largest Chiropractic school in the world. I have invested hundreds of hours of post-graduate seminars receiving extensive training in multiple techniques specializing in pediatrics, pregnancy, nutrition, sports performance and injury prevention. I look forward to helping you achieve your best health.

Lanitta Kirksy

Lanitta Kirksy Originally from Chicago has helped serve in chiropractic for 14 years. I always thought that chiropractic was for back and neck pain. So when I was in a car accident 15 years ago, I sought the care of a chiropractor in Chicago. Up until this point for most of my life, I had suffered from debilitating migraines 3-4 times a week that would cause me to miss work. I would basically just check out for the whole day. I started chiropractic care because I was in a car accident, but after my second adjustment I have gone 15 years without a migraine. It completely changed my life. I decided that I wanted to be a part of the mission to help others learn about the benefits of chiropractic care and that it wasn't just about back and neck pain. I started working for a chiropractor in Chicago. To be closer with family in Atlanta, I moved here and have continued to share the principles of chiropractic care to the Smyrna community.
