Dr. Jamie Michael

Dr. Jamie Michael is a Georgia Girl through and through. Milledgeville, a small city southeast of Atlanta, Georgia, is her hometown, and while growing up there she attended John Milledge Academy for 12 years.  Leaving home after graduation was hard but she headed off to LaGrange College where she majored in Biochemistry, and served as vice president of the Kappa Delta sorority.

Throughout college she tailored her education based on her plans of attending medical school, but God had a different plan for her. A week before graduation, she got really sick and had a terrible medical experience that convinced her that medical school was not the place for her.  Instead, she became a Chemist  for one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies.

In 2007, Dr. Jamie married an amazing man, Tommy, who chose to pick up everything and change jobs when God led her back to school to become a Chiropractor.  And thus began her four-year journey at Life University Chiropractic College.

While there, She joined Epik Missions on two Chiropractic mission trips to Ghana in West Africa, and it changed her life forever.  “My time ministering to the people of Ghana set me on a path to reestablish my own relationship with Jesus Christ.”

Since then, Dr. Jamie and Tommy have been so blessed.  We were baptized together on our anniversary, and a month later we were expecting our first child.  Nine months later, in the privacy of their home, we welcomed Miss Therine.  I went on to graduate Chiropractic school just a few months after Therine was born. And in August of 2014 they look to welcome their second child into the world.

In February, 2012 Dr. Jamie opened Michael Family Chiropractic in Smyrna, GA. Dr. Jamie focuses on the restoration of family health. With extensive training with prenatal and pediatric care, she hopes to promote a community of health for the ENITRE family. Whether it is for the dad who is sore from his marathon to the mom who is 20weeks pregnant with a toddler keeping her busy. I would be honored to serve you and provide care for you and your family in order to optimize your overall health.

To be honest, I couldn’t be happier with my life.  I have a fantastic family and a career that never feels like work.

Dr. Kerstin Halstead

Dr. Kerstin Halstead joined the practice in July of 2017 after completing her Doctorate of Chiropractic at Life University in Marietta, GA. Dr. Kerstin is originally from Hanover, Michigan where she grew up with her family. She has 1 brother who is also a chiropractor. Healing is definitely in their blood as her father who is a veternarian brought her up in a clinic.

Dr. Kerstin got her undergraduate degree from Michigan State("Go Green!") before she moved to Georgia to pursue Chiropractic. Dr. Kerstin has a huge heart for serving and promoting health within her community because chiropractic changed her life.

Dr. Kerstin was plagued by debilitating anxiety that proved to be a challenge in her everyday life. Everything from riding in a plane to taking a test was limiting her from living a normal life. After seeing a chiropractor her body began to stray adapting optimally and she soon overcame this anxiety. She was able to enjoy college and master her chiropractic technique with ease.

Dr. Kerstin trained for 6 months under Dr. Michael before she was asked to join the team permanently. We have converted this Michigan girl into a Georgia Girl.

Lanitta Kirksy Originally from Chicago has helped serve in chiropractic for 14 years. I always thought that chiropractic was for back and neck pain. So when I was in a car accident 15 years ago, I sought the care of a chiropractor in Chicago. Up until this point for most of my life, I had suffered from debilitating migraines 3-4 times a week that would cause me to miss work. I would basically just check out for the whole day. I started chiropractic care because I was in a car accident, but after my second adjustment I have gone 15 years without a migraine. It completely changed my life. I decided that I wanted to be a part of the mission to help others learn about the benefits of chiropractic care and that it wasn't just about back and neck pain. I started working for a chiropractor in Chicago. To be closer with family in Atlanta, I moved here and have continued to share the principles of chiropractic care to the Smyrna community.
